When playing a video game, taking down an enemy requires speed and excellent visibility. Inconveniences like lag or a limited range of sight can make all the difference in the heat of battle. Luckily, the Game Bar on 2024 Samsung Smart TVs provides an array of tools to make the most out of your games. For example, it will display the current refresh rate and whether or not there’s high input lag. It also lets you change the aspect ratio of the screen, so you can see details that you normally wouldn’t see. You can also use Ultrawide GameView on your Samsung PC.
Introducing the Game Bar
2024 Samsung Smart TVs include a Game Bar that displays all the information necessary for optimal gaming performance, such as input lag, resolution, FPS (frames per second), HDR (High Dynamic Range), and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and also provides quick access to gaming features, options, and preferences. When Game Mode is set to ON or AUTO, press and hold the Play/Pause button on the Samsung Smart remote to open the Game Bar.
1Game Genre: Starting with 2024 TV models, the new AI Auto Game Mode feature will be available, which automatically maps the picture and sound quality to match the genre of the game title when a console is connected. With AI Auto Game mode, the optimal settings for each game will be automatically configured through game title recognition without any additional settings. Both the picture and sound quality will be changed.
2Screen Ratio: Change the aspect screen ratio.
3Minimap Zoom: Change the location and size of the Minimap. Starting with 2024 TV models, the new Minimap Auto Detection feature will be available. By analyzing the frame, Minimap Auto Detection identifies the fixed position on the screen and automatically zooms in on that location when the Minimap is enabled. Minimap Auto Detection uses game screen analysis to detect and select the Minimap.
4Game Motion Plus: Enhance motion smoothness and input lag to optimize fast moving games, such as role playing and adventure games.
- If Game Motion Plus is turned on, then VRR will be disabled.
- If VRR is turned on, then Game Motion Plus will be disabled.
5More Settings: Open the Game Mode Settings menu.
6Virtual Aim Point: Show a virtual aim point in the center of the screen.
7Sound Output: Change the sound output device (TV Speaker, soundbar, Bluetooth headset, etc.).
8Help Guide: View details and instructions about how to use each menu item.
9Current status display
- Input Lag: Shows the Input Lag status for playing games.
- Resolution: Shows the resolution of the game source.
- FPS: Shows the number of frames per second in real time. If VRR is active, the frame rate will change.
